White and natural home styling

Simplicity and warmth are what comes to mind when I think of white and natural. Designing your home with natural and white items will make your home feel simple, clean  and warm. Having a beautiful home is something I know most people dream of. However, not all of us can afford to have those ‘dream homes’ yet. But in the wait to get that dream home why not make your current home a sanctuary.  In this post we have curated a few minimal decor ideas that will make you fall in love with white and natural home styling.

Natural colours

Using neutral colours will make it easy  to experiment with a variety of items. With neutral colour as part of your themes, you can easily incorporate bold and statement pieces within your minimal decor. Neutral theme will also make your home look beautiful without making it look too busy. In addition, neutral also makes it easy to experiment with layering, texture and shapes. Remember to get only the items you need to minimise clutter.

Bring nature indoors

There are various health benefits of having an indoor plant. And for decor purpose, a plant will bring life to your room and make your design visually appealing.

With a minimal decor a plant will always make the room feel and look good. You could go for a small plant, or big depending on your room size and your preferences.

Hanging shelves can also be a good place to arrange a few small plants.  And you can also get pretty plant pots to match your decor.

Focal point

Decide what is going to be your focal point in your room. For example your bed can be the focal point in your bedroom, or the coffee table for the living room and for the bathroom you could go for the wall over the sink as a focal point. With the focal point in mind, buy decor accessories that will accentuate the look and feel of that room.

Texture, colour and shapes

You can enhance the look of minimal decor by adding a few bold and colourful items  to the mix. Alternatively you could incorporate texture into your theme. Adding textured items will add depth to your styling and give it a polished look. For example you can go for textured throw pillows in any colour. Other items that can add texture to your room are vases, mirror, rugs, side table. There are so  many options to choose from style wise, you could go rustic, modern or make your own style.

Display shelve

A display shelf is another way you can enhance the style of your room. Just remember open shelves are more visually appealing with minimal items on them. Use texture, colour and shapes to create a harmonious coordination of items.  There are a variety of items you can use to style your shelves. For example, use books you intend to read, or wall art or some sentimental items you love. Shelves can act purely as storage items or purposefully to create a sense of style. Remember, natural texture and softer items will create a sense of warmth, so it is worth considering some.
